چکیده
ZrW 2 O 8 is known as a negative coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) material. In contrast, the studies other properties than CTE , such conductivity and mechanical properties, are limited. Herein, highly dense bulk sample (%T.D. > 95%) from very fine powder (D50 0.3 μm) with crystalline size 31 nm using spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique synthesized. It revealed that exhibits lowest level among various oxides in wide temperature range 300 to 823 K. Furthermore, physical peculiar CTE, elastic constant, Grüneisen parameter reported. Owing its exceptional expected be used management areas.

Ultralow thermal conductivity of multilayers with highly dissimilar Debye temperatures.
Thermal transport in multilayers (MLs) has attracted significant interest and shows promising applications. Unlike their single-component counterparts, MLs exhibit a thermal conductivity that can be effectively engineered by both the number density of the layers and the interfacial thermal resistance between layers, with the latter being highly tunable via the contrast of acoustic properties of...
متن کاملNegative Thermal Expansion
Introduction Many materials which we encounter in everyday life expand on heating. This fact of life is easily highlighted with a simple experiment that we are all familiar with and involves a metallic sphere passing through a metal ring. At room temperature, the sphere is of such a size that it can easily pass through the ring, but after the sphere is heated, it will have expanded with the res...
متن کاملFirst-Principles Determination of Ultralow Thermal Conductivity of monolayer WSe2
By using first-principles calculations combined with the phonon Boltzmann transport equation, we systematically investigate the phonon transport of monolayer WSe2. Compared with other 2D materials, the monolayer WSe2 is found to have an ultralow thermal conductivity due to the ultralow Debye frequency and heavy atom mass. The room temperature thermal conductivity for a typical sample size of 1 ...
متن کاملUltralow thermal conductivity of isotope-doped silicon nanowires.
The thermal conductivity of silicon nanowires (SiNWs) is investigated by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. It is found that the thermal conductivity of SiNWs can be reduced exponentially by isotopic defects at room temperature. The thermal conductivity reaches the minimum, which is about 27% of that of pure 28Si NW, when doped with 50% isotope atoms. The thermal conductivity of isotopic-super...
متن کاملUltralow thermal conductivity in disordered, layered WSe2 crystals.
The cross-plane thermal conductivity of thin films of WSe2 grown from alternating W and Se layers is as small as 0.05 watts per meter per degree kelvin at room temperature, 30 times smaller than the c-axis thermal conductivity of single-crystal WSe2 and a factor of 6 smaller than the predicted minimum thermal conductivity for this material. We attribute the ultralow thermal conductivity of thes...
